Coast Southwest Makes the Most of SWSCC Suppliers’ Day
Grand Prairie, TX (September 29, 2010) — Coast Southwest, Inc., set out to make a “big splash” at the seventh Southwest Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists Suppliers’ Day, according to its president, Joseph C. Cimo. By its own account, the chemical distributor did exactly what it needed to do.
The biannual event, which was held August 10 at the Gaylord Texan® Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, TX, brought together companies and professionals involved in the cosmetic and personal care categories. “It’s the most important event we have,” said Joseph Cimo, whose firm has participated in the last 4 Suppliers’ Day gatherings.
With on the order of 80-100 competing booths at an event like SWSCC, making an outstanding impression isn’t simple. “But it’s important to create attention and goodwill, and carry that goodwill forward,” continued Mr. Cimo.
Coast Southwest mounted a high-visibility booth and floor presence, with dynamic display elements and design graphics provided by their Chicago-based marketing agency, Biersma Creative. That presence was complimented by a large reception Coast Southwest hosted that evening, which featured upward of 100 attendees.
For Coast Southwest, a leading chemical distributor that services customers throughout the cosmetic and personal care industry, Suppliers’ Day was a crucial opportunity. “We need to communicate our established reputation as a necessary supplier and a dependable partner,” said Mr. Cimo. As a company that only entered the Texas and Midwest market via a 2003 acquisition, the firm wanted to trade on its good track record with other clients, and demonstrate its ability and enthusiasm for providing personalized solutions for new customers.
“I’d have to say we knocked it out of the park,” said Mr. Cimo. “We had the best booth, strongest presence, and a great after-hours reception. That all adds up to a great impression, because it shows how seriously you care about your audience’s business.”
He went on, “Lots of people left our events feeling good about Coast Southwest, and about how we differentiate ourselves. That’s what we hoped to achieve, and I’d say we did it.”
