
Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician will maintain and perform repairs on production equipment. In this position, the Maintenance Technician will perform preventive maintenance on equipment, respond to calls to support production and troubleshoot issues.
Essential Job duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs preventive maintenance actions and activities as assigned, including driving and creating documentation for maintenance tasks specific to equipment (work instructions).
- Responds to maintenance calls throughout the plant and repair equipment accordingly.
- Performs troubleshooting independently on equipment and determines failure reasons and anomalies through
structured problem-solving methodology. - Contributes to the PM methodology within the plant area.
- Assists other maintenance personnel in rebuilding and/or redesigning production equipment.
- Breaks down equipment for sanitation and reassembles after.
- Works on continuous improvement activities and teams.
- Communicate with the management team on all safety and maintenance needs.
- Observe all safety precautions and rules specified by federal, state, and company regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High school diploma/GED required.
- Two (2) year technical degree preferred.
- Minimum three to four (3 to 4) years of experience in the maintenance field, ideally in an industrial/production setting;
food packaging or chemical industry is preferred. - Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components, including controls / PLCs.
- Solid knowledge and experience in the use of maintenance tools and equipment such as a lathe, mill, grinders, drill
press, etc. - Knowledge of root cause analysis and using troubleshooting methodologies.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Dependability and reliability.
- Basic math skills, and basic reading comprehension.
- Ability to read, understand, and comply with work directions, training manuals, safety rules, standard operating
procedures, and World Class Manufacturing processes. - Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to work in both the Arlington and the Irving (Bear Creek) Facilities.
- Must be available to work the day shift (7 am-5 pm).

- Ability to verbally communicate both in person and via telephone.
- Ability to utilize various office equipment, including computer, telephone, fax machine, and copy machine.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds.
