California Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists Honors Brian M. Kolevar, Coast Southwest regional sales manager, with 2015 Merit Award

The Society of Cosmetic Chemists California Chapter honored Brian M. Kolevar, Coast Southwest regional sales manager, with the Chapter Merit Award. This award is presented to one member of the 650+ member group annually in recognition of “Outstanding Service and Distinguished Leadership in Society Activities.”

Mr. Kolevar continues to serve as he has for nearly a decade as business manager for the Cosmegram, the chapter’s official newsletter and also serves on the Chapter Board of Directors.

He was presented the award trophy by Angie Inouye, 2015 chair, at the organization’s January meeting.

“Receiving this award felt great,” Mr. Kolevar said. “It’s nice to feel that the job you do is appreciated. For my part, I appreciate all the chapter members and supporters who help us maintain such a high quality newsletter.”

The California Chapter conducts eight monthly meetings in and around Los Angeles, each featuring industry speakers presenting the latest innovations and topics within the cosmetic industry. In addition, the Chapter also runs a biennial one-day scientific seminar on the latest technology, a biennial Suppliers’ Day (October 14-15, 2015), and UCLA Extension Courses.

Mr. Kolevar says that participating in the California SCC Chapter helps him serve his customers better.

“The experts who speak at our meetings share knowledge that any professional in the industry would appreciate knowing and be able to use,” Mr. Kolevar said.
